Lauren house dog handler – From Puppy to Partner

As a new dog owner, it’s important to socialize your pup early and often. A well-socialized dog is a happy dog, and a happy dog makes for a happy owner. Here are some tips on how to turn your pup into a well-rounded canine citizen.

The first few months of a puppy’s life are crucial for socialization. Puppies should be exposed to as many different people, animals, and environments as possible. This will help them to become comfortable with new things and less likely to be scared or anxious in unfamiliar situations.

One of the best ways to socialize your pup is to take them to dog parks or doggy daycare. Here, they will be able to meet and play with other dogs in a safe and controlled environment. This is also a great way for you to meet other dog owners and get advice on training and care.

Another great way to socialize your pup is to enroll them in puppy classes. These classes are designed to help puppies learn basic obedience commands and get used to being around other people and animals.

Finally, make sure to take your pup on lots of walks and to different places. This will help them to get used to different sights and sounds and to build up their confidence.

Following these tips will help you to turn your pup into a well-rounded canine citizen. A well-socialized dog is a happy dog, and a happy dog makes for a happy owner.

A Day in the Life

Hi everyone! Today, I’m going to take you through a day in my life as a dog handler. I hope you enjoy!

6:00am – I start my day by taking the dogs out for a walk. This is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air before starting my work day.

8:00am – I arrive at work and get the dogs settled in their kennels. I make sure they have plenty of food and water and that their beds are comfortable.

9:00am – I start my shift by cleaning the kennels. This includes sweeping and mopping the floors, and cleaning all of the dog bowls.

10:00am – I take the dogs out for a potty break. I make sure to give each dog plenty of attention and love.

11:00am – I start training with the dogs. We work on basic obedience commands like sit, stay, come, and down. I also work on tricks like shake, roll over, and play dead.

1:00pm – I take the dogs out for a walk. Because This is a great time to work on recall and loose leash walking.

3:00pm – I finish up my shift and get the dogs settled in their kennels for the night. I make sure they have food and water, and I give them a goodnight kiss. Because I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into my day! Thanks for reading!
